PIO XI NELLA MEDAGLIA (1922-1939)

“…This work by Modesti, introduced by a learned preface from Card. Colombo, gives a complete picture of the impressive yield of medals of Pius XI. All the medals known to exist are listed and catalogued in detail, both those stamped by the Mint or by private works such as Johnson and Lorioli. The illustrated apparatus is excellent, the text of irreplaceable value to scholars and collectors, and the bibliography and the innumerable analytic indexes detailed and painstaking.”

Carlo Sburlarti in: “ANTIQUARIATO” no. 94, June 1988.
